Hello! A big warm welcome!
If you’ve never been to Z-arts before, or just want to learn more, here’s your quick guide to what’s on offer at the UK’s only dedicated arts centre for children and families.
Where is Z-arts?
We’re on Stretford Road in Hulme, Manchester – about a 15/20 minute walk from Deansgate Station! Our postcode is M15 5ZA.
Who is Z-arts for?
Whatever your age, Z-arts has a wide range of events and activities for all the whole family, aged 0-100!
What’s on offer?
Theatre shows, immersive play, storytelling, workshops, and free activities all year round.
Solve our family-friendly escape rooms, pick your next favourite story in our Children’s Library, grab a treat at Z-café, or find pocket-money goodies in our Gift Shop.

Family Theatre – see a show
We host theatre shows year-round for every age.
Immersive experience – play together
Adventures in Wonderland is our immersive experience for children aged 1 – 8. Play, imagine, explore, and make unforgettable memories together.
Family Escape Rooms – solve puzzles
We have two family-friendly escape rooms – Mission: Mad Hatter (ages 9+) and The Library of Enchantment (ages 8+).
The Library of Enchantment puts your puzzling skills, logic, persistence and, most of all, teamwork to the test. Mission: Mad Hatter is part escape room, part scavenger hunt, part digital adventure!
Z-arts Children’s Library – read and imagine
Our colourful and welcoming Children’s Library is a lovely place to grab a book, plus we have FREE regular pre-school storytelling sessions during the week. It’s a place where children and families can read, imagine, connect, create and have fun.
Bright Sparks – exciting and creative classes
Sign up to our Bright Sparks membership and get access to our exciting and creative classes in dance, drama, music, art and more!
We also offer inclusive creative art sessions that celebrate diverse ways of thinking and learning, for families with children with additional needs.
Z-Café – grab a bite
Our Café is a great place to grab a coffee, sandwich or a sweet treat. We also have colouring and a Kids Corner!
