Freya Bennet-Nielsen

Trustee, Young Artist

Why I joined the Z-arts board:

I’m really passionate about how Z-arts nurtures creativity at every stage, from its youngest 2-year-old attendees to artists at the very start of their careers and beyond. It’s a real joy to be part of that journey and to help Z-arts grow even further as a trustee.

Fun Fact:

I love to perform, and my favourite kind of performance is stilt walking! I learnt 6-7 years ago for fun, and now it takes me around the country and sometimes internationally too to perform.

I’ve spent my life reporting for BBC News but started out as a local radio DJ and became, for one night only, a member of Black Lace when one of the band was taken ill. I’m proud to say I pushed pineapple and shook the tree.
