Calling all young musicians in Manchester! An exciting project for 11 – 16 year olds

Young musicians in Manchester! Are you aged 11-16? Do you play an instrument? Rap or sing? Are you a beat maker or producer? We are looking for talented young musicians of all kinds to take part in a ground-breaking and exciting new project beginning in Feb 2020!

Generation Z is a brand new FREE project for young musicians to develop skills in writing, performance and creativity. In weekly sessions starting Feb 2020, you will be working with some of the top musicians from across the Manchester music scene in a brand new state of the art recording studio – revamped in 2020 especially for this project!

You will develop skills in:

  • Creative song writing
  • Improvisation
  • Music technology
  • Recording
  • Performance Skills
  • Meeting and creating with other like minded musicians your age
  • Releasing your music professionally

You will be mentored by professional artists from the Manchester music scene including the amazing Untold Orchestra! The project will culminate in recording your original songs and releasing them on all major streaming platforms (including Spotify and iTunes) and performing at the Royal Northern College of music.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any young musician to meet other creatives, gain vital experience and begin their professional career in music!

Please only apply if the following applies to you:

  • You already confidently make music of some kind (eg. play an instrument, write songs, make music on the computer, sing)
  • You are between the ages of 11-16
  • You want to explore new music and work with other young musicians
  • You can commit to attend sessions on Monday evenings from 4-7pm (term time only) from Feb 24th – 20th July

Generation Z is for developing musicians, however if you are interested in getting involved with music at any level there are plenty of opportunities at Z-arts, please email jack@z-arts.org for further information.
