Call out: Creative Practitioners for Summer of Stories 2026

We’re excited to announce an opportunity for three creative practitioners to work with Z-arts on Summer of Stories 2026, our free summer holiday programme for children and families.

Summer of Stories is a joyful, three-week programme of interactive storytelling and arts and crafts for children aged 0 – 8 and their grown-ups. Each practitioner will lead one week of activity, bringing stories to life in a playful, welcoming environment where families can drop in and take part.

Practitioners will plan storytelling sessions inspired by two children’s stories, alongside a simple and engaging arts and crafts activity.

The fee for each role is £1,000, with the Summer of Stories programme taking place across late July and early August 2026. Alongside the sessions, practitioners will take part in a training day and a planning meeting at Z-arts.

We encourage applications from diverse applicants that reflect the rich and diverse nature of the Hulme community. We are particularly interested in creative practitioners from the global majority and Hulme residents.

The deadline for applications is Monday 9 March 2026 at 10am.
