Z-arts and Cash4Kids!

Z-arts has been awarded funding from Cash4Kids to continue delivering drama sessions to our young people!

We’re delighted to announce that Z-arts is getting funding from Cash4Kids, providing essential support for continuing our drama sessions. Currently, Z-arts provides drama sessions for young people from the ages of four to sixteen. There’s Drama Stars for 4-6 years, Drama Stars for 6-10, and for 11+ we have Z Young Performers (ZYP). All of the sessions encourage confidence and fun, and our fantastic facilitators enable young people to find their voices and use them with pride.

In a recent survey of the young people attending the sessions, a brilliant 91.3% said they felt Z-arts was a place they could be themselves. One of the attendees, aged 10, says “I’ve been coming to drama because I didn’t feel confident, and now I get to make new friends.”

In a similar survey given to parents and guardians, 73.1% felt that their child’s confidence had improved after attending sessions at Z-arts. The mission of Z-arts is to inspire and enable generations of young people from Manchester and beyond to use creativity to maximise their potential. “With arts classes being cut from schools,” one parent said, “Z-arts bright sparks membership is invaluable to ensure we and other families are able to introduce our children to dance, drama and music.

Cash4Kids is a charity run by Hits Radio, providing a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester. Their aim each year is to raise thousands of pounds to make available for grants to children’s charities, individuals, and many other causes in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

“This funding will enable us to keep providing drama classes for the young people at Z-arts,” says Saskia Metcalf, Creative Development Manager at Z-arts. “There is a great community at Z-arts that wouldn’t exist if we weren’t able to run these classes, and it’s brilliant to see how much the young people get out of them.”
