Manchester Culture Awards

Z-arts have been nominated in five categories for the Manchester Culture Awards!

The Welcoming Party has been nominated for Best Performance. This was a collaboration between Theatre Rites and Z-arts and was commissioned by Manchester International Festival. Audiences loved The Welcoming Party, which explored different stories of journeys through an interactive installation.  Check out this review from Exeunt magazine.

We’re up for the award from Promotion of Environmental Sustainability for our work with St Philips Primary School. Gill Balfour, our Creative Learning Officer, has been working with the school to raise awareness of environmental issues and help create the next generation of eco-friendly champions.

We’ve also been nominated for Inspiring Innovation, for taking a fresh or radical approach leading to successful outcomes in any area of delivery.

Annalise Browne, one of the participants in the Levi’s Music & Unity project, has been nominated for Young Creative of the Year, which is awarded to a young person who is inspiring future generations of Mancunians and others through their creativity.

And finally, we have been nominated for Best Business Partnership for our collaboration with One Manchester. One Manchester have worked directly with the creative staff at Z-arts to make something unique and exciting and really made a difference to the young people of Manchester.
