Z-arts – Artist Workshops

Z-arts Artist Workshops

Z-arts is committed to supporting the development of artists and their work.

This page is our Artist Workshop page, where we will list all the workshops taking place at Z-arts for artists to be able to book on to.

Some of these workshops will be paid for, other will be free to attend. If you wish to attend one of the workshop that costs money to book and you circumstances mean you’re unable to pay for the space, that is totally fine. We have bursary places available for artists. If you wish to have a bursary place, please can you email Isah-Levi Roach (isah@z-arts.org) requesting a bursary and answering the following question: “Why is attending the workshop important to your practice?”. Once you’d done this, your bursary place will be booked.

Upcoming Workshops

Early Years Dance Choreography with Takeshi Matsumoto

Date:

Monday 20th October 2025

Time:

1:00pm – 4:30pm

Workshop Content:

What tools can be used to choreograph dance performances for early years groups? How do material and materiality inform the body—and how can the body inspire playful interaction with materials to shape the creative process?

Informed by contemporary dance, Dance Movement Pscyhotherapy, and early years practice, this workshop invites participants to explore the “ingredients” for creating dance performances for children and young audiences. These insights have been gathered by Takeshi’s working with and for neurotypical and neurodivergent children nationally and internationally over the last two decades.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
Target Audience (Participants):

It is aimed at artists and practitioners who are interested in making performances for children. No previous dance experience required.
