Have you ever thought about making a show and performing or touring into libraries?
Monday 6th February
Accrington Library, St James’ Street, Accrington, Lancashire, BB5 1NQ
Come and join Big Imaginations to hear about the joy that touring to libraries can bring as well as some of the challenges. We will talk about your checklist of things you need to consider when making and taking work into libraries.
Chaired by Lyndsey Wilson (Spot On Lancashire) and Zoe Pickering (Big Imaginations and Z-arts) this event will be an opportunity to ask your questions and cover some of the learning Spot On has gathered over nearly a decade of library touring.
This session is aimed at people who are making shows that they want to tour into libraries.
If you have any access requirements please let us know.
If you want to make a full day of it:
Spot On have been supporting Coalesce Dance Company in their R&D phase for a new show entitled PANTS, aimed at ages 14+. The company have been devising material for the show within library spaces with the aim of creating a finished show suitable for touring to libraries, rural and studio venues.
This is an opportunity to find out more about the themes and approach, watch some early R&D content and learn about their process of making performances suitable for library settings.
We’d like to invite you to attend our sharing on Monday 6th February at 11am in Blackburn Central Library, BB2 1AG.
The event will last for an hour, with an introduction by the company and an opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts.
Once you sign up for the Working In Libraries session we will follow up with an email to check if you would like to attend this sharing. We need to know you are coming so we can ensure we have space for everyone.
