  • differences between hearing and deaf cultures
  • technological aids and equipment
  • communication support, note-taking and interpreting services
  • communication skills
  • simple ways you can improve your practice

You will receive a Zoom link for the webinar as soon as you have booked your place.

The session is aimed at professionals – looking at ways to include participants and understanding their experience so that you can ensure that the service you provide is of equal standard to both deaf and hearing people.

This workshop is in support of Art with Heart’s new play Stan, a Z-arts commission, which will be coming to Z-arts in Feb 2022!

Stan is an exciting new play for children ages 7-11 which is written and performed in English and British Sign Language and embeds creative captions within an animated set.

Sam is a dinosaur-loving 8 year-old whose world changes after his parents separate. He meets Alex, a deaf girl with a vivid imagination and the two go on an astonishing adventure to meet Stan, the almighty T-rex at Manchester Museum. Join Sam and Alex on an unforgettable adventure in this new play that celebrates the power of play, the joy of communication and the positive force of friendship.
