Secondary education

At secondary level pupils can visit our venue to see theatre productions and exhibitions from professional companies and artists, participate in artist master classes and gain an insight into working in the creative industries.

Our team of artists reflect our vibrant cross cultural programme with art forms from around the world such as bollywood, capoeira and african drumming and we can design creative projects across the curriculum subjects.

We set live briefs for GCSE and BTEC modules (for example creative media production, professional development in performing arts and theatre business module Units) and host work related learning through hosting year ten placements.

We also offer alternative provision and can develop projects for pupils at risk of exclusion, supporting accreditation through Arts Award.

Schools can use our creative spaces for performing, rehearsing and exhibiting. Our theatre is particularly geared towards technical theatre training, from sound, lighting and visuals to stage management for both pupils and teachers.

As an Apple Regional Training Centre we promote the use of creative ICT across the curriculum, offering teachers free advice and training courses that demonstrate how to incorporate ICT into your teaching.

Z-arts is a creative educational resource for schools so please get in touch if you need support to develop a project idea or wish to explore creative practices into your curriculum.
