Academic book sale raises over £200 for local arts centre

It was another successful year for the IDPM-based Journal of Development Studies book sale at the annual School of Environment, Education and Development Postgraduate Research conference.

The sale of academic books sent to the journal for review raised over £200 which was donated to the Z-Arts.

Z-Arts Centre provides young people from across Manchester with access to various spaces where they can be creative and participate in music, dance, arts, theatre and much, much more.

Saskia Z-Arts’ Creative Development Manager said: “Simply put, if it wasn’t for faithful supporters like The University of Manchester, we would struggle to exist. So thank you for sending your generous donation.

“The funds we receive help to make a difference in the lives of children and their families in the local community and in our shared home of Manchester.”
