We’re Hiring: Story Explorers & Escape Room Hosts

Z-arts is looking for Story Explorers and Escape Room Hosts to join our team for two exciting, family-focused experiences:

  • Adventures in Wonderland (interactive storytelling experience)
  • Z-escape: The Library of Enchantment (family escape room)

Everything we do at Z-arts reflects our values. We aim to be welcoming, inclusive, forward-thinking, engaging, vibrant, and fun. Our hosts deliver high-quality experiences for both public sessions and school groups.


Role Overview

Both roles involve:

  • Performing in character
  • Welcoming and engaging families and young people
  • Supporting safe, playful, and memorable experiences
  • Resetting spaces and maintaining health & safety standards

Training is provided before you are signed off in either role.


Story Explorer

Adventures in Wonderland

About the Experience
Step into Wonderland and guide families through scenes inspired by the beloved story.

This is a 60-minute immersive play experience designed for families.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform in character for the full 60-minute experience
  • Learn and deliver a script
  • Interact confidently with families throughout
  • Facilitate play within the experience
  • Reset and tidy the space after each session
  • Work independently during performances
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Fun, friendly, and confident
  • Positive and engaging
  • Comfortable working with children and families
  • Happy to work across public shows, school sessions, and birthday parties

You will attend a training session before being signed off as a Story Explorer.

Escape Room Host

Z-escape: The Library of Enchantment

About the Experience
A multi-themed escape room designed especially for families and young people. Co-created with local families, it’s suitable for:

  • Tweens and teens
  • Parents and carers
  • Younger siblings

Groups work together to solve puzzles, riddles, and clues to unlock a series of doors in this 60-minute experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform a script in character
  • Understand how the escape room runs
  • Support guests throughout the full 60 minutes (you remain in the room)
  • Guide groups solving puzzles where needed
  • Reset the room between sessions
  • Maintain tidiness and complete health & safety checks

Children aged 8+ may take part as a group without parents, with you as the responsible adult in the space.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Confident, friendly, and positive
  • Engaged and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable supporting families and young people
  • Happy to learn scripts and technical room details

You will attend training and host a test audience before being signed off as an Escape Room Host.

Important Dates

  • Auditions: Friday 30 January 2026, 4–6pm
  • Story Explorer & Escape Room Host Training: w/c 2 February 2026
  • Adventures in Wonderland Quest Training: Saturday 14 February 2026

Successful applicants will be invited to audition and interview, with the expectation of starting in February 2026.
