With five fantastic theatre shows and children’s classes every day of the week, Z-arts’ has a fun-filled season for families to enjoy.

In January, The Knotted Project and Hawk Dance Theatre team up to bring their first children’s dance production to life at Z-arts. Also in February, there are two theatre shows lined up for the holiday. Teeny ones and their grown-ups can embrace the last of the winter weather with Snow Mouse at Z-arts, presented by Travelling Light and The egg (Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 February). Watch as a child hurries to run outside in their winter clothes and play in a sparkly new world! Just when they start to feel a bit lonely, they find a sleeping mouse buried under the soft white flakes… Come and join these two new friends on their adventures in a magical forest full of play, puppetry and music.

Slightly older ones can travel to similarly chilly climes to meet Oolik and her icy home in Where’s My Igloo Gone? presented by the Bone Ensemble (Sunday 25 February). Join Oolik as she goes on an extraordinary adventure to save her igloo home. On her way she meets some exciting friends to help her – including YOU! Journey into a dazzling world of soaring snow geese, pet husky dogs, starry nights and the kind of cold that makes your skin tingle…With enchanting live music, it’s a fun, magical experience for all the family. Z-arts are delighted to announce their half term project Skyscrapers to Igloos – Changing Skylines. This project is a free project exclusively available for Bright Sparks Members. In March, Friends For All (Saturday 24 March) is an exciting interactive spoken word performance for families, with rapping, dancing and far-out video projections presented by Half Moon. The story is all about having the confidence to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. Eight-year-old Lexi doesn’t make friends as easily. If only her school would allow a non-school uniform day then she could be herself and find others like her. Inspired by Grandad’s hippy stories from the swinging 60s, she decides to fight the powers that be – namely her class teacher, Mr Marsh, and the class bully, Suzy.

In April, Z-arts welcome back Arun Ghosh with Arun Ghosh’s Jazz Club (Saturday 28 April). Fresh off the back of the success of Big Imaginations Jazz Club Arun returns with his unique, interactive blend of jazz, hip-hop and South Asian music, with captivating clarinet, delightful double-bass and toe-tapping percussive beats.
