South Asian Participatory Arts – Artist Call-Out

In 2018 Z-arts’ will be focusing on increasing our audiences with South Asian heritage. We want to ensure we’re not only attracting families from these heritage groups but also that we are working with cultural representatives and local arts professionals whose practice reflects South Asian cultures.

Z-arts are particularly interested in hearing from artists who are working in the following disciplines:
• Digital Arts – (Audio & Visual, Apps and Gaming, Animation etc)
• Dance
• Music
• Visual & Textiles Arts
• Creative Writing & Story-telling

Given the nature of this call-out, we strongly welcome applications from South Asian artists or artists that have a connection to South Asian communities and culture, as well as:
• Experience of working with children and families (a current DBS certificate must be held by all applicants)
• Experience of working in community and education settings
• Excellence as an arts facilitator

This will be a paid opportunity so please submit a brief budget as part of your proposal.We are looking for proposals that range from £0–£1,000 as we intend to programme a range of smaller events from September 2018 – to March 2019.

Along with the one page proposal, please also submit your current CV and single page supporting letter that explains why you wish to work with Z-arts and how you as an artist meet the criteria we have set out above.
