My work has always featured supporting emerging artists and creative development, whether that’s in venue management since 1990 or running my own theatre and new writing company for thirteen years. Previous to Z-arts I established and ran PANDA (Performing Arts Network & Development Agency). I’m delighted to be able to put all these experiences together to lead Z-arts as Manchester’s venue for children and families; supporting any individual’s creative journey.
I graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 1986 and went on to work in the theatre in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I was delighted to join the team here at Z-arts in November 2011 which marked a return to the arts after 20 years managerial experience in the commercial sector.
Wow - I've been at Z-arts since since 2010 and time has seriously flown. I've seen the organisation go from strength to strength. I'm very proud of what we have achieved over the last 6 years and we have so many great plans for the future. The help and support we have received from our children has families has made what Z-arts is today and we can't thank you enough. We hope you continue to come and enjoy the creative learning programme and brilliant children's theatre! I'm originally from Manchester but have time spent time studying photography and film in Blackpool and Sheffield and then working in Southend and then came back to Manchester in 2002 – 14years ago – how time flies when you are having fun. I work as the Creative Development Manager, overseeing the creative and education programme and helping to secure funds for new projects. If you are interested in working with Z-Arts, please do get in touch!
I have worked at Z-arts since 2010. I am lucky to work in an organisation that cares so deeply about the quality of work for children and families. I love children's theatre and outside of work spend a lot of time watching, thinking and talking about it. Big Imaginations is bringing brilliant children's theatre to audiences all over the North West. What's not to like about that?! I have two beautiful children and run a youth theatre in my spare time.
I'm 12 years young and have worked at Z-arts since May 2009. I consider myself very lucky to work in an organisation where my co-workers frequently leave their bags open as this allows me to indulge in my favourite pastime of stealing sandwiches. Usually I can be found having a snooze, badgering people to take me out for a walk or being a general tripping hazard in the office. One of my key skills is locating discarded food and much worse things in Hulme Park.
