Massive Success for Allsorts Musicians

On Thursday 26th March 2015 we held a symposium showcasing the exciting work that has been happening as part of Allsorts over the last 12 months at Z-arts, including music-making, performance and dance.

The sympoium saw practitioners gather to share learning and best practice with live performances and a Q& A with a panel of industry experts discussing music delivery for young people across Manchester. The panel consisted of Brighter Sounds, One Education, Square One and Youth Music. There were presentations from feature film expert Mark Ashmore from Future Artist and Ines Soria-Donlan and Lauren Walker from 4D creative.

The performers, aged 11-19 years range from grime MCs to soul singers. They meet every Saturday morning 11-1pm to work on their tracks and all of them write lyrics and songs in their own time.

Check out the new video to find out more about the event and take a look at what’s been happening as part of the Allsorts project over the last year! https://t.co/zepb4FNgPf

Allsorts are an urban music collective based at Z-arts who write, record and perform their own music. Allsorts is one of Z-arts key projects and has been running for several years under the guidance of talented industry professionals who volunteer their time to help inspire our young musicians.
